It's ok to not want to be there, but making no attempt to conceal that sentiment at a funeral (on TV) shows the level of emotional maturity we're dealing with.

I'm fairly sure nobody wants to be at a funeral. But they call it "paying respects" for a reason. Least he could have done is the one thing that people go to these things to do.
