Their tails are as long as their body. If you ever get a chance to look at a pelt, you will be able to see that if you bend the tail back up their body, it goes just past their head. They use them like scarves in the really cold and windy weather. They will curl up and wrap the tail around them covering their faces so that they don't get cold or a frostbitten nose. They also use their tails for balance when running down mountain slopes or jumping from rock to rock. They are able to jump about 50 feet and can run up to 40 mph. They live in the area around the Himalayas. Source: I work with them at a zoo.

Anyone know why their tail is so long?

They can. We have a 40 ft moat in front of their enclosure and they can clear it very easily.

That's pretty cool! It makes me wonder what pressures would cause lynx to have almost no tail, while these guys have such a long one.

I'm pretty sure that polar bear breathes fire

We often blame humans for causing climate change, which is a cause of polar bear death. It is actually the flame-throwing variety of polar bears that poses the greatest threat to Arctic wildlife.

FUCK SALAMANDERS. IT'S POLAR BEARS. POLAR BEARS ARE FIREBREATHING DRAGONS.
