Yup. Twitter. The last bastion of grammatical correctness.

Banana Republican Scott Walker just signed a law stripping powers of his Democratic successor

Banana Republican Scott Walker just signed a law stripping powers of his Democratic successor

... and Republicans were calling for the drain(ing) of the swamp ...

This is beyond insane. Beyond treason. These creeps.

It's important to understand how much of a power grab this was.

Democrats won the 2-party popular vote for WI assembly by 54% to 46%—a substantial margin in a closely-divided state. But they won only 36% of the seats to Republicans 64%. So, despite representing the majority, they can't undo the power grab by the lame duck legislators and governor.

Republicans lost only one seat in a 99-seat chamber despite a 14.48% net D swing:

2016: 51.69% R | 45.45% D (R+6.24)

Seats 64 R | 35 D

2018: 44.75% R | 52.99% D (D+ 8.24)

Seats 63 R (-1) | 36 D (+1)

That's not run-of-the-mill gerrymandering. It's egregious and completely subverts electoral competition as well as accountability. And Republicans control the WI Supreme Court, reducing the viability of legal challenges.

This is a legislative coup. Banana Republicans believe they have an inherent right to rule Wisconsin, whether the voters want them or not. This kind cheating—which puts partisan power above all fundamental democratic principles—undercuts the basic legitimacy of the Wisconsin state government. Banana Republicans are shitting on popular sovereignty—the idea that government derives its power and right to govern from the consent of the people. They are asserting their right to rule the people because they say so.

The people of Wisconsin have a right to reject these unchosen rulers and their illegitimate actions with massive sustained civil disobedience. Surely something like this warrants a general strike?

They are the swamp.

The Right keeps calling him "The Rat". "The Rat Sings" "The Rat Comes Clean" "The Rat Flips".. I'm here to let you know.. You can ONLY be a "Rat" if you have information to rat out.. Calling him the Rat gives unyielding validation to the correctness of his statements.

In fairness, a lot of the humor here comes from laughing at all the salty comments like yours.

😚

I hope this is supposed to be irony

i mean, i was expecting a response of "but ron perlman is an actor, not a reality tv star!", and i would respond "i wasn't talking about ron perlman", and then the whole bus would start clapping, but i guess that dream is dead now.

Racists gonna racist. I mean Trump supports and likes the KKK and appreciates their support

Well if women didn't work and stayed at home in the first place, this wouldn't even be a problem. You silly people and your "gender equality".

Trump is NOT going to understand the word meritocracy.

Damn, she's cold. (In a good way)

He has to snort adderall just to be able to pronounce meritocracy.

Lmao.. now this. This is political humor.

Two memes in one, I like your thinking OP. You gotta ditch that impact font, though.

some meaningless affair

I remember when the entire Republican party freaked out over some meaningless affair.

In fact, they built their entire brand upon the idea that they were in stark contrast to the guy who had the meaningless affair. "The party of family values" promised to bring "honor and integrity" back to the White House, and much was made of the stalwart fidelity of their Presidential candidate in that race.

They even branched out, declaring (as the gay marriage thing gained steam) that "marriage is between one man and one woman." The core of their alleged values was the importance of a monogamous relationship between two people and extramarital sex was right out!

Now, the leader of that same party cheated on his first wife with his second, his second with his third, and has paid at least $300,000 to hide his cheating on that third wife.

Party of family values, my ass.

This needs to focus on the right stuff

You mean like his shitty trade deals?

Remember this?

But Ocasio-Cortez said there are three chambers of government!

2018

Here's the post from last year. He kept it up in his rallies, but once he realized he couldn't talk the Mexican President into lying they were going to pay he changed his tune pretty quick.

Damn I completely missed that, but with all the other lies and bullshit it was easy to do.
