Edwin Encarnacion Thank You Thread
One last parrot 🐦 🐦 🐦 🐦
His dongs were nice but damn he didnt have one of those real hot streaks
Man, if only he didn’t roll his ankle in the 2017 playoffs... welp, he was here for the insane winning streak, and had some really great clutch dongs. Thanks Edwin
Also shoutout to u/EdwinGivesMeOrgasms and I wish you all the SafeCo SafeCums
EDIT: make that Tropicana Tropicums?
EDIT 2: I hope he doesn't get dealt to the Padres...
I’ll miss him but he was definitely on a downward trend, and that’s just business
*Adds Carrasco jersey to Christmas list.*
Per Zack Meisel, this is Carrasco's new contract:2019: $9.75M 2020: $10.25M 2021: $12M 2022: $12M 2023: $14M club option or a $3M buyout
I could be crazy, but perhaps there are MLB players out there who like the team that brought them up and think $58M is far more money than they'd ever expected finish life with.
Yan Gomes appreciation thread
Yan was so good for us and amazing teammate. He was so good for us the last two years. It sucks that Big Dick Yan Gomes has to leave. Thanks to the yanimal for the walk off vs the pinstripes in 2017
This move is indefensible. The fans deserve better. I wish Gomes a ton of success in DC
If you need me, I’ll be weeping in the corner.
Yan, you're amazing. I wish you the best.
CLEFO: What the fuck are you thinking. You are supposed to be dealing at positions of strength to make the team BETTER, for 2019. Instead you dealt from a position of minimal depth to make the team WORSE. What's next? Trading Kluber for high A top 50 prospect and saying "here's the the 2025 window"? Fuck this trade. If we at least got an MLB ready above average outfield bat this would be easier to swallow. But this move makes no sense. I have zero faith in the front office's decision making this offseason.
Clutch af, fantastic defense and decent bat. Likely the best AL catcher in 2018.
I dont know whats their reason for this, but it better be a good one, cause this looks like a highway robbery.
OFFICIAL SENDOFF FOR THE CHIEF
Whatever your feelings, it is time to say goodbye to Chief Wahoo.
NOTE THIS IS NOT A PLACE TO ARGUE OPINIONS ABOUT CHIEF WAHOO, ANYONE CAUGHT DOING SO WILL RECEIVE AN IMMEDIATE BAN. THIS IS ALSO NOT A PLACE FOR QUESTIONS ABOUT THE NEW SUB, WE WILL HAVE A SEPARATE THREAD FOR THAT IN THE NEXT FEW DAYS.
Died on Columbus Day.
I loved you, supported you and fought on your behalf. Turns out you were cursed. Rest in peace.
ah yes the '48 championship. I remember it like it was yesterday
I'll never stop wearing a Chief Wahoo cap.
2 medium sized market teams and only a 1 hour time difference?? Sign me up for that series!
All of ESPN had an aneurysm reading that sign.
A Royals fan appears to be the one holding this sign. Discuss.
Edit: The other side is a marriage propoal for Kipnis.
I like the guy
These are the best
because tomlin closed out the last 2 innings.
Tomlins nickname is little cowboy
no, you are the best, bubsy
TIL Hammy is a Transformer.
You know: I know it's a long season, and it doesn't bother me that there's only 16 guys out there in the outfield pestering Greg, but it's--everytime--always Frankie and Jose. These guys just set such a good, fun tone for our clubhouse, on top of everything else they do. It's so infectious as a fan.
Walk Yandy to get to Greg “Boston’s Daddy” Allen = MISTAKE
God damn I could listen to hammy call curling and be excited.
Shane Bieber’s K/9 is almost the exact same as Kluber’s (9.0 for Biebs and 9.1 for Kluber) so he could’ve been there as well, if he had pitched the entire season.
Edit: For reference, Bauer’s K/9 is 11.6, Cookie’s is 10.7 and Clev’s is 9.4
(All stats via baseball-reference)
Easy there. We still need records to break next year!
We're the 90's Braves with a better Steve Avery
Probably one of the best Hammy calls we've had in a while. God damn.
HOW ABOUT DAT!?
Favorite player. Love that guy. He’s had his struggles but the guy plays his heart out for our team and our city. Kip is the fucking man.
Also, he may have scuffled the first few months, but that mofo is heating up at the right time
Jason Kipnis is batting .317/.411/.683 with 6 HR, 5 2B, 23 RBI, 8 BB and 8 K in 19 games (73 PA) since implementing a mechanical adjustment involving his hands on Aug. 26 in Kansas City.#teammagazine
Kipnis hugged Donaldson first. We’ve got a fucking squad.
He’s had really cool hits when milestones come up. His first hit, 100th HR, and 1000th hit were all something else.
Maybe we should do some digging and find some milestones that might come up in October. And just casually let him know...
On August 26th, Dirtbag predicted that he was about to turn things around. Since Aug 25th, his BA has jumped 12 points and his OPS 48 points. Happy for the guy.
It needs a certain Celine Dion song as well...
